She was Assistant Curator for the internationally renowned initiative Edge of Arabia, which was the first to present contemporary art from Saudi Arabia to global audiences. With Edge of Arabia, she realized several pioneering exhibitions in London, Berlin, Istanbul, Dubai, Doha, Jeddah, as well as two major participations in the Venice Biennale. 

Leading the production of multiple international exhibitions and major artwork commissions, her role included the development of local networks, communities and infrastructure around each project. Aya Supported the growth of the organization from the first stage of the small social enterprise, to an internationally recognized organization with a global following.

Simultaneously working on the early careers of Abdulnasser Gharem and Ahmed Mater, both of whom have gone on to international acclaim, Aya managed and lead sales of artists work resulting in institutional acquisitions including LACMA, British Museum, Palasso Grassi, Venice.
